Lismore City Library

SamHallPhotos - New York Book SculptureThere is no excuse today for any parent to not provide books for their children. Our Richmond-Tweed Public Library (Network) is free to join (with ID) and you can borrow up to 20 items per card, for 3 weeks. You can borrow and return items from and to any library branch in the network. This includes Lismore, Goonellabah, the Mobile Library, Alstonville, Ballina, Lennox Head, Brunswick Heads and Byron Bay.

As for buying your own books Lismore has THE best charity/op shopping in the Northern Rivers and they always have kids books, sometimes as cheap as 20c each. A lot of the books in our house come from here. Keep an eye out at school fetes and fairs, there is always a book stall and again kids books are usually 50c – $1. Investing this small amount in a book offers a lifetime skill, hours of enjoyment and if you have a large family you can always hand them down to the next child!

Lismore City Library has great children’s programs and school holiday activities.
